How to install XBMC on iPhone,iPad and Apple TV 2 iOS 4.2.1

XBMC team has ported XBMC to iPhone, iPad and Apple TV2. XBMC Media center is open-source media player for MAC, Windows, Linux and Microsoft Xbox. You can manage your videos and photos right from your computer, local network, optical disk and internet using a remote control.

Sad news is that Apple will not allow XBMC in its App Store as it is a competitor to Apple products. But if you have jailbroken iPad, Apple TV 2 and iPhone then you can install XBMC with the below instructions:

How to Install XBMC on Apple TV 2 iOS 4.2.1
$ ssh root@
root@’s password:”enter your password here; it should be “alpine” if you haven’t changed it”
$ echo “deb http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2 ./” > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xbmc.list
$ apt-get update
$ apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

How to Install XBMC on iPhone & iPad iOS 4.2.1
1. Run Cydia.
2. Go to Manage -> Sources -> Edit.
3. Add http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/ios/ as a new Cydia source
3. Go to teamXBMC repo and tap XBMC-iOS to install
4. Exit cydia and start XBMC from home menu.
