Apple 27 January 20110 Comments

Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread has been released for iPod Touch and iPhone. For iPhone, this works only with iPhone 2G/3G. Android ports for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPad will be releasing soon. We already shared to install Android2.3.1 gingerbread on nexus S.

iDroid admin Nickp666 said that would be working on some other projects for the next few weeks. There are other 3 developers who would be porting openiboot to iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPad. So, for the meantime, he has put a test build for all.

This release is a preview release. So, it would not be available by Bootlace (Android Installer package). You need to install it using binaries. Full procedure here.

Your iPhone or iPad must be first jailbroken. Then only you can install Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread. Jailbreak your iDevices using pwnage tools by using method posted here.
