Should Comments open in same window or different windows

1 Comment 14 February 2010

The opening of comments whether should be in same screen or in new tabs/screen might be somewhere in your mind. By default, if you are using wordpress, your comments are going to take your same browser window. You can in the end lose your visitor leaving your site. So, your commentator takes the whole benefit of commenting on your site. The commentator should get love from any blogger for commenting on his blog but isn’t it good if both

0 Comments 14 February 2010

Do you use Google Adwords for the promotion of your blog or website. Today, I just discovered a Google Adwords drawback. I saw a website http://oceanofweb.com displaying its ad through its Adsense :-) The site uses Google Adwords for promoting itself and that Google Adwords campaign was displaying in its own Adsense Program. I have a question here. On any click, where the revenue will go and from where :-) Is Google Adwords Database falling short of publishers :-) On the other side, Google should take it

Alexa Rank or Google Page Rank

24 Comments 11 November 2009

Which one is most important for any website or blog- Google Page Rank or Alexa Ranking. Infact, both keep their importance at its own place. While Alexa Rank aims to overall rank of any site in whole web, Google Page Rank on the other hand, determines the importance of any site in the web.

Alexa Rank
With Alexa Rank, you can measure the traffic stats, global reach, search percentage, pageviews,..etc. of any site. But I would rather say, Alexa Ranking is not accurate. I have seen many sites with traffic of 3-4 k visitors daily and having alexa ranking around 2-3 lakhs.

Can we Publish a Post in Multiple Categories

6 Comments 06 November 2009

Generally, bloggers do write a single post in 2 or 3 categories. But doesn’t it count as duplicacy? Is this not a sin in Google’s eyes. This is the question that comes in the mind of every new blogger. Me too also thought same when I started blogging initially. Some do think that almost all do follow this strategy, so it might be acceptable by Search engines. But why, after all it’s a duplicate. The reason being that those blogs are using a good SEO plug-in that overcomes this issue. If you are not using any such plugin, then beware you

Google Maps Creates Imaginary UK Town- Argleton

0 Comments 06 November 2009

Argleton, a town of United Kingdom has been reported on Google Maps. Google’s UK Map Provider is Tele Atlas. And the funniest thing here to note is that in reality there is no town by the name Argleton in UK.

UK resident Mike Nolan first discovered this imaginary place on Google Maps in September 2008. And to further prove falsity of this fictional place, Roy Bayfield actually visited the address of this place as per Google Maps in February of this year and to his great surprise he found there nothing except some vacant fields. Mike Nolan added that it could be a mistake while inserting the name ‘Argleton’ instead of ‘Aughton’ in maps database.

The Telegraph said that

How To change Dynamic Title of Feedburner

1 Comment 01 November 2009

When feeds from feedburner are sent to your blogs subscribers, the subject always go as your blogs name. So unless and until the subscriber isn’t going to open the mail, he is unaware of what todays feed consist of. Apart from this, its obvious that many-a-times he doesn’t go into the details of that mail and thus, leaving unread mail or delete that mail.

The interaction of subscribers with your feed can increase if he daily gets new subjects – possibly, if the title of the post.

To do this, follow the below procedure:

Login to your feedburner account at http://feedburner.google.com
